How well does this case study fit into psychosis?
I hope this doesn’t ruin his ideas that he’s original, special or unique.
It’s quite a textbook like case.
Maybe he’s terrified of sharing his terror, so he has to terrify others to feel less alone. Yah, it doesn’t make sense logically, why would someone actively abuse other people and try to evoke a raw terror and fear in other people.
It seems like a totally idiotic counter productive strategy to make friends.
But if the goal is to be less alone with his pure terror & inner demons. What better way to connect with others?? Scare the crap out of people, but get them pissed off due to feeling unfairly attacked. Then those people try to hate back, which creates a trauma bond.
It’s quite manipulative and simple strategy. Trigger others, then hook them by triggering resentment/morality wound, then other people keep that connection going.
Oh… and they never have to share their constant state of pure existential terror… they get to continue their imposter syndrome, posing as over-confident and totally fearless. But that artificial mask is paper thin, if one just avoids taking the bait, you can see through that fakery. It’s someone that’s genuinely terrified out of their mind. So damn desperate to try to avoid that constant terror, that they’re obsessed with their death and killing other people.
Death seems like the perfect escape. But they’re also a bit short sighted and hadn’t considered Purgatory could be facing them after death, which is even more terror and hell.
In that short 13m28s video, he breaks it down as spectrum between neurotics & psychotics, with BPD in the middle.
Fucking neurotics label themselves as healthy with integrated self, though I’d argue there’s tons of parasitic or abusive behavior going on with neurotics. But yah neurotics tend to have shared mindset and language to better cooperate with others and a build a working society. Cooperation with others probably is a highly rare trait for a psychotic?
The upside is maybe psychotics can travel into alternate realities. Too bad their so busy obsessed with their own terror and trying to connect to others through terror. Though it seems like they’d have a much stronger terror tolerance muscle than most people. But where would that be useful?
