I’ve done a lot of research on narcissism over the years, needing to know why life was so shitty. Had psychoanalysis in the early 1960’s, which didn’t help at all. But kept reading and trying to find answers and kept making the same mistakes. Found Richard Grannon a couple of years ago when I needed help fast in attempt to extricate myself from a situation I’d got myself into online. I’ve been around narcissists all of my life without fully realising it. Because of my psychiatric background making excuses for them and forgiving because they couldn’t help it.
So I came across this video on YouTube today and it put some finishing touches on what I already knew but was nevertheless a lightbulb moment. I was excited with this new look at the phenomenon of both the narcissist and their victims. Why are they so compelling to an otherwise fairly intelligent person, especially one with the experience of them. Just when you think you do have boundaries and awareness you realise that it wasn’t enough.
