Fryek the over sampled world of online existence… they live online, all their friends are online, their existence is online… now they’re calling this the world… and the “world” is sick?
I was all excited to see some distorted type of extreme interview… but damn I got disappointed…. because some of Potent’s past lives can veer into a bit drug induced type of visions and stuff….
But… I did find some interesting gems in this interview….
4m had some backstory details of one stalker at his recent workshops… trying to corner him and talk about her delusional fantasy relationship with him…. pretty entertaining, though also shows his and most of the population’s discomfort with dealing with delusions… I’ve worked with dementia, it’s hard interacting with someone who’s totally convinced and living out a delusion and projecting it onto you….
14m30s - had reference to some scandal with fresh & fit… somehow they’re over-promising or lying ?? not that surprising, but they also admit it’s a business… and so they’re marketing to lost guys and helping them have a community…
19m alpha and beta is stuck in high school mentality… a relabel of jock & nerds battle..
24m tiny exploration how women also stuck in adolescence, but with rappers playing out animus possession..
26m - consumer mindset has bled into mental health… yes, I can see how this bleeds into victim-mentality mindset… feed me the shared fantasy I want…
34m - possible origins in academia/schools = pandering to students “no one is wrong” (this bled into my bereavement group with cofacilitator’s shame focus over-riding group member’s genuine grief issues)
37m & 39m - super nice movement, safetyism, nanny state – interesting but not that much new here
45m pimped by Youtube & social media algorithms… some nuances here, but lots of influencers calling out creator’s burnout, and algorithms feedback mechanism encourages endless production…
Fryek oversimplified bemoaning of the world is
I vaguely recall a portion where RG took a nihilistic view… that it’s too late for the world.. everyone’s duped by consumption or social media or domesticated pacifists…. I think there was a portion in the beginning and a portion at the end… but I think he leaned on there’s nothing to do….. that’s within similar framing of black pill mindset that’s common in Tentacle Croissant episodes….
I dunno… I don’t mind nihilistic view.. it’s better than a super engaged culture wars mindset.. of having to fight human nature, and climate change, and patriarchy…. that’s just a vague…. world is about to fall apart everywhere, and I’m just soo sad and hopeless, but I’m gonna keep caring and stay anxious….. (which I observed a good amount of in a recent fully grown adult established professional therapists dialogue group a few days ago..)
