Some behind the scenes: part of my inspiration was from Grannon's antidote to narcissistic traits by flipping symptoms into opposites. Video clips posted @ #399

Some antidotes to narcissistic traits:

Fantasy antidote is try to live in Reality
Arrogance antidote is Humility
Entitlement antidote is No One is coming to save you, You're not owed anything
Grandiosity antidote is being Boundaried & Self Awareness
Neediness antidote is Responsibility, Values & Contribute to the world; Be your own source of validation
Interpersonally exploitative antidote is to realize others exist & also important and valuable

Poison Pill approach was using exaggerated reflection and indirect comments to 'interrupt the pattern' and disrupt the standard super-ego, hero archetype, having the answers = I'm done type rigid mindset. My version of criticizing constant narrative and storytelling within a super-ego, excessively future focused controlling attitude.

the idea, our notion of order, that we can passively wait and everything will just return to order

However the closing part of his final video covers very similar territory of this past zoom meeting, and also references literature, which is similar territory of narrative, hero myth, and long form writing skills; also territory I've been hacking in.

We need to regain humility

We need to begin to understand that psychology is a more rigorous form of literature
but cannot provide us with insights which are deeper or better than literature
We imbue psychology with meaning and with direction and a goal
and this is a classic mistake in science it's called teleology
because
We cannot contemplate a meaningless world (we've discussed this in my nothingness videos) so
We form our own meaning, We invent all kinds of things or We become the meaning, that's Narcissism
and in the process
We sacrifice everything and everyone around us

The pursuit of meaning and

The addiction to hope and

The aversion to risk

are the three greatest curses of the previous century and this one

This person and his video's is mentioned a lot on these forums. This post is more than 2 years old. And I went to look up his name in you tube...and for as far as I can see he keeps on posting videos very often.
According to you tube his latest video was published 7 hours ago.
I don't really know who he is....
I have to admit that am not so fond of his voice nor accent. For some reason if I hear him speaking...following sentence comes up ..."Come on are you seriously going to listen to this..why notl just go to zombo.com and listen to that voice for hours? That too will drive you bonkers but at least it doesn't consume that much bandwidth".
I know it is judgemental...to decide not to listen to someone based on accent and tone of voice....
On the other hand I know that I don't do this in general to write people of based on if they do speak a language fluently and/or without accent....
There is no depth in his speech, no passion, no compassion.
When he says " we need to regain humility"...Who are the people he refers to with "we"?

ICS I've noticed quite a few people feeling the same way. I also find him hard to listen to (if I've not watched him in a while, there's a rhythm in there somewhere) He's worth the uphill battle for the information imo.

The information might be useful indeed. But listening to his voice feels like literal walking uphill on a steep mountain. My iliopsoas is protesting.
I might reach the top if I force myself....gather all the information...The top of a mountain might give one a nice overview on his favorite subjects, and maybe on who he is...Most of the time nourishment is found in valleys not on mountaintops.
