Uhm… I have heard these claims of conspiracy, and I can sorta agree there with some of his diving into culture wars and society change type stuff… but for closing down the forum?? what’s the conspiracy blaming there?
I offered the video clip from July 2020 as a broader context of his stance on support groups and communities in general… and likely his history and frustration with bad actors.. (You’ve seen them in our zoom groups, but you haven’t seen them during in person meetings where they emotionally flood you or the whole group).
Where is he being intentionally dishonest or misleading???
I’d argue more that he’s got giant blindspot… likely Aspie like social blindspot.. though if you add his childhood sexual abuse, C-PTSD could also cause development delays..
Deef More evidence that Grannon has Asperger traits…..
I’d flip the critique and say that he’s genuinely likely very disabled and socially helpless to community and larger groups… he’s still quite codependent…. He had a vision for the inner circle, and sort of forgot his prior experiences/frustrations with prior online communities or in person groups….
Then after this one got going, he started noticing the group vibe, tried to call it out lecture style and from a distance, but then got frustrated, merged somewhat with the group’s shadow, or just sorta ran into a dead end…. then retreated…
I think he has childhood trauma and lingering insecurities from that, possibly hard-wired…. he’s managed the flashbacks and isolated and gotten away from triggers… I suspect groups and being around borderline types, triggers him.. or is his repetition compulsion…
Is part of your critique that he should be stronger against borderlines in his audience, or within his community he tried to build? Isn’t that a bit unfair? borderlines are inherently hard to contain, train to cooperate with others, and even harder to actually help grow (especially if they’re not fully hit rock bottom yet)..
And I’d argue his style and looks also attracts BPD types too..
oh.. and here’s more evidence of his potential weakness, from podcast interview late last year I think..

i’m not built for it,
individual coaching leaves me with physical symptoms, i get sick my glands swell up
i don’t mind it at the time that i’m doing it, but to swim in your …
like in order to give you insight, i’m probably doing something that counselors and therapists shouldn’t do
i try to experience your childhood trauma as you as a child
you’d be happy with it, you go this is really cool, you’ve given me amazing insight here …
but you leave left like a squeezed lemon?
i’m absolutely, by it
and part of it is quite horrifying at the unconscious level
and also just i think psychically not in the woo-woo sense but in the jungian sense
that you have energy in the psyche, it’s very draining
If he’s reading questions about people’s childhood trauma, and he’s throwing himself in there 1st person to relive it… that quite possibly could be re-opening his own past traumas… or he’s doing some level of transference… merging with and offering emotional containment to others… that’s a nice short cut but personally exhausting… and possibly dangerous… some people have some crazy demons in their shadow…
