It’s been a bit quiet on the YT comment front. Dumped a few videos onto the YT channel recently, and got these trollish comments.

I’m starting to see the projections. PJ is showing his triggers and also his own behavior, but dumping it and projecting it onto Richard & Pierre. His comments are attack the messenger personal attacks, along with judgment and maybe some strawman or red herring?

I took the bait and tried to spar a bit back..
my responses to 3 comments:

1st one
If you watch the full talk for context, that was a rare instance of him sharing specifics of his childhood sexual abuse. So yes, he probably flashbacked to some of that past hypersexual trauma defenses. Good intuitive sense of yours! And good example of attack the messenger, when someone dares to be vulnerable and talk from a place of raw trauma. Congrats.

2nd one
All the other comments seem to get the joke. You’re unique and see an opportunity to verbally attack avatars on a screen?

3rd one
Yes!! How dare them go anywhere near the territory of VICTIM blaming!! let’s attack them and make them victims too!??

Youtube is weird with it’s shadow bans or what not..

This back and forth is blocked and invisible on other browsers, accounts, or icognito mode… but shows up for me and apparently w/ PJ

She basically owns up to evading arrest and being jailed twice for false accusations. I see that as strong evidence showing how divorced from reality she is..

it started in the comments on this video critiquing pre-teen girls dancing on tiktok… but this back and forth is invisible

now that she’s established herself as being a criminal liar…

In another comment thread she starts bragging about her sexual abuse history, exaggerated to heck..

raped 100+ times. How is that physically possible? maybe if she got gang raped? or is she calling any and all sex as rape, so her at least 3 husbands could’ve raped her multiple times?

This is like crazy delusional person type of troll….just pure projections plus her own delusions and flashbacks…

and for context… this comment thread is in response to this video where Richard is encouraging to work on one’s suppressed trauma.. or else CPTSD is likely to get worse…

Why am I diving into more youtube comments mess…

This is in a comment thread discussing recent Inner Circle closure. I was a bit surprised that people seem oblivious to what Richard is describing. So jumped in to clarify some things, but then I get these responses, which I’d argue is evidence that codependents aren’t very good at working together.
My observation which is more towards what Richard is trying to convey in the video, quickly get attacked, dismissed, and doubt sowed. Then the questions are dumping the work load on me to provide more energy, effort and information, while the codependents offer little to NO work of their own to investigate my claims or Richard’s.

Plus it’s in this sucky youtube comment thread that gets buried from general audience, but also feels like a 1-on-1 chat due to notifications.

The start of this video has perfect example of a codependent playing dominance games, along with Richard appeasing his boundary violation…. I should’ve kept the guy’s face in the clip, to allow more context, but I was also trying to negate his invasion of his worthless point of view.
He hijacked Richard’s point. with the opener let me just say then proceeded to reframe and soften Richard’s position!

I think that’s the best thing is when people can see each other and support each other
that exact same space is a space that

i can actually relate to the heart space that they’re in
i’m not talking about the people that are playing games
i mean the people that just can’t help themselves right
they just can’t help but set boundaries aggressively and take up the space
that they probably never had before seeing your work. right?

There’s no excuse for asshole-ish behavior, especially due to personal emotional dysregulation. And people who have tons of therapy can’t use ignorance as an excuse.

What exactly is his/her argument back? I’m making claims that he/she can’t see, and that’s surprising?
Or is it triggering a bit of shock to even consider that forums and support communities are by default cest pools with bad actors and crazy people… by default it’s a mental health community, which should equate to people aren’t mentally and emotionally stable….

I suppose he/she is thinking that I’m defending Grannon’s decision to close down the forum… I’m also disappointed in the closure, the lack of transparency and the sudden-ness of the shut down… but I don’t feel financially cheated… I’m out $50, cuz I joined the first day… and only got 5 weeks instead of 8… so fucking what… I got exclusive access to 27 videos, and got to contribute to some of the questions that were meater than YT live Q&A… pretty good deal for $50..

I suppose this person maybe got some abandonment terror triggered by the closure…

Sure sure… but not my responsibility…and is it Richard’s responsibility for $25, or $50… he did 5 videos a week as described… What more were people expecting?

Yayy… self awareness of one’s own triggers can happen via youtube comments… though he/she is likely just shutting down and hiding, so it’s less likely to be fully integrated… but precise calling out bad behaviors, allowing the other to tantrum and push back.. stay steady and hold your ground, and realizations come up from that dissonance..

If I were to knee jerk respond, react with more judgment, escalation, and threats of social exile… then his/her attention could go onto me or RG instead of recognizing his/her own over-reaction, triggered emotional flashback and/or attempt at projection onto 3rd party…

Finally got around to revisiting and editing down Grannon’s holding space video from inner circle..
It’s wasn’t easy to cut down 25 min into 3 minutes… initial prune was down to 11min, then took out some repetitions, and then focused more on the critiques of bullying, and less on slow examples of patiently working with a child or tending to a flower…

The comments show that people resonate with Grannon’s emotional comfort, soothing and humor…
The bottom comment from Cindylu is interesting with disclosure of Tourette’s…. but also shows how she can self soothe herself with speaking out loud, and flipping the opposite…
I’ve played with noticing or exaggerating my subtle verbal tics, and can see how they’re soothing and if I go full blown with words or expressions, I can see how it’s a nice escape…

In this video clip and the extended version… you can see Richard go through a wide range of facial expressions, vocal tone, and emotional range… i’d argue that his facial & verbal tics allow him this wide range, enhancing his entertainment and emotional tonality of his delivery….

Upside is that it allows him to connect to a wide audience… but downside is that people can become attached to him as an external emotional regulator/soother… therefore indirectly aiding people from self-work… (that might be why he balances this out with an in-your face delivery?)

Pretty quiet in the YT comments world, but did get a RG comment showing that he gets TEAM-CBT’s paradoxical agenda setting foundational posturing technique…

Reversing the role of fixer to broken client… coach/therapist takes on role of resistance… or arguing to stay broken.. then the client takes ownership of their healing journey…

People just flagrantly ignored the rules because they didn’t feel like sticking to them, and I was like well, I can’t impose sanctions, you’re not four years old, the only thing I can do is close the site down.

It was a very strange experience for me. It was a very upsetting experience for me!
The way people acted on the forum, I was appalled by, absolutely shocked.
It’s too risky, people threatening each other! We caught the posts quickly, screen capped them, deleted them.

But there’s people openly threatening each other within four weeks, on a site that is ostensibly for people recovering from C-PTSD!!

and then I added some extra heat in the comments with this add on:

I’m not so shocked that codependents flagrantly ignored rules! Happens quite often in my groups.
I see it more as a sign of boundary blindness, and all the endless focus about setting your boundaries, I’d argue ends up strengthening counter-dependent tendencies of codependents, making them even more aggressive, asshole-ish and socially oblivious.

I might release this clip publicly soon, and maybe it could draw some interesting comments? or maybe nada? hard to say..

I released this video publicly yesterday after a DID question triggered a good amount of chat activity in a youtube Q&A live that Richard Grannon did…

I had this edited to my screen view for a few months, and got working on editing the part 2 version (to first edit out other screens, and then overly higher resolution video clips to compensate for grainy images)

Some initial comments:

The pitch seems to be working. People enjoying a different perspective that’s a bit more compassionate or less willful.
I think part 2 covers argument to try to befriend persecutor and upside of reassigning them as a protector part. And the always being led by superego, I think I cover that angle by getting your super-ego working in-line with your conscience. Instead of falling into ego reality principle territory.

I made this clip and released it today because I thought it was a good intro for arguing for better communication skills, perspective taking, and empathy (as a social awareness). Themes that might explore for Thursday’s zoom.

RG discovered it in his feed and promoted it on his main channel which drove some added traffic & opinions.

I think the video might have hit a nerve and sparked some reflection. Pretty good for youtube, and comments have active contribution.

BUT there’s no easy mechanism to organize those comments into a group conversation or dialogue.

Getting some attention from RG with recent comments… he’s usually only commented on clips of his video excerpts… this recent one was the language trap excerpts of Michelle… where his meme of no sincere communication with the insincere was an opener…

Glad he enjoyed watching that chaos.. wonder if it will influence any of his future commentary?

Missy’s comment I let slide, and thought Jebediah’s response was a good counter. But then I piggy-backed off Juliana’s comment, and called out this common social media tactic.. combo of ad hominem, red herring and straw man; maybe?

Then wow… Apple Grappler44 took the bait and fell into the pattern?? wtf? It’s like he/she/it might just be a robot?? Has reading comprehension problems? Or is so emotionally flooded, it’s just a knee jerk blame shift, dump their toxicity on random targets type of coping strategy???? how sad?

Not much action in the YT comments recently… but this person shows a bit of paranoid delusions, and offers an example of someone clinging to an Utopian vision of the world, but they’re not trying the path of love and communes…

This person instead wants to institute mental health tests to eradicate all predators from political leadership…. are there tests that could filter this? and can they be cheated? and how the heck would it happen?

And would the country go down the tubes by getting destroyed by another country led by an aggressive predatory bully??? lol….
